The local branch Pub of the Year 2012 presentation will be at The Sidings in Castletown on Thursday evening from 7:30 pm.  We hope to see old and new friends!

Looking forward to the presentation at the Whitehouse in Peel tonight. 20 consecutive appearances in the Good Beer Guide. 7.30 for 8 pm presentation. Sandwiches also served.

 

Congratulations also to the Sulby Glen also celebrating 20 consecutive appearances. Presentation 3pm Saturday afternoon.

The Whitehouse will make its 19^th successive appearance in consecutive GBGs starting in Sept 92 with the GBG 1993 Edition.

Thanks to everyone who contributed in the earlier voting to shortlist the finalists.

Members should read the guidance notes and submit a form for each shortlisted pub.  Obviously it would be great if you could vote on all six pubs, but if it is not practical do not worry – the voting system is proportional representation!

Most of the scores will be consistent as the finalists have been chosen as the best six already.  Any very high or very low scores should include comments.

Please remember to be discreet if you are voting in the pub!

Isle of Man Tourism Awards 2010

Congratulations to the HQ Bar & Restaurant as winners of the Best Customer Service Award.  It was a very popular pitstop with members at the CAMRA AGM 2010.

Peel won the best town or village award – perhaps no coincidence then that the CAMRA Isle of Man Pub of the Year 2010 is the Whitehouse in Peel!

The 3 day CAMRA AGM 2010 was nominated and shortlisted for the Event of the Year 2010.  The winner was the 7 day Easter Festival of Plays.

POTY 2010 results from a branch meeting on 15th June 2010:

WINNNER - Whitehouse, Peel (freehouse)

RUNNERS UP - Rovers Return, Douglas (bushys) and Bay Hotel, Port Erin (bushys)

There was just under 80 votes forwarded or filed at the branch meeting from the 240 branch members.  The Whitehouse has now won POTY 3 years in a row!
